April 22nd Extract from the report on National Hunter trials by Sarah Lang, regional PRO : " The star of the show was definitely our very own Anthony Gillespie and Trádhearg Setanta from the Russelstown Riding Club who secured the topspot with a polished clear round over the 22 fences including numerous combinations in 5mins 17 seconds, just one second from the optimum time. Anthony was stunned by his win when he received a call from his club secretary last night, but thrilled to be crowned champion! Well done! AP:Linda Shannon riding Braveheart Jessie & Patrick O'Neill and AutumnAmber from the Russelstown Riding Club also competed in this class. All of the above riders then took to the course as individuals with Patrick O'Neill coming home in 26th place after posting a clear, but incurring time penalties for being too quick across the country. Linda Shannon came home in 35th place. There was only one rider for the South East in the Intermediate individual phase, Emma O'Keeffe & Kestrel Moon again from the Russelstown Club. The partnership posted a lovely clear round but incurred time penalties." The report neglects to mention that Mick Kelly had a great round and was also clear in AP. Well done all!
