News 2006.

20th Dec. Despite the cold and fog there was a great turn-out for our league final. Thanks to Rosemary for the mulled wine dips and nibbles-the sour cream and garlic dip was fabulous!Well done to all 28 members who took part throughout the league. Results for Christmas league are: MINI 1st - Rusty O'Neill. 2nd - Jason Coughlan. MAXI 1st Mark Fitzgibbon and Louise Hogan.3rd Elaine Bolger. 4th Tony Gillespie and Harry Doran.The club is now on holidays until January 07.

8th Dec. 2006. Members and friends got together in Dinn rí for our annual Christmas hooley. A good night(and early morning) was had by all!

Nov 13th 2006.Well done to the award winners at our AGM. Colette Harper took the most improved rider title, Ciara Larkin was the winner of the outstanding achievement of the year title while Louise Hogan took club person of the year.

Oct 2006. A good night was had by all at the SE regional awards night,where both Louise and Tony took prizes in the Viking League.Sandra Nolan won a bottle of champers, which unfortunately she did not get to bring home!

Sept 24th Congratulations to our "real" granny Angie on the birth of her first grandchild, a boy for Julie and Andy.

19th Sept 2006. Well done to all who travelled to Edgeworthstown to take part in the National One Day event and to the helpers who travelled also.Riders as follows: Tony Gillespie, Emma O' Keeffe, Ciara Larkin, John Lidierth and Louise Hogan. Footfollowers(!)Rob Corrigan, Sandra Nolan , Josephine Larkin, Mick Kelly, Bríd uí Mhaoluala and Cara O' Keeffe(soon to celebrate her first birthday). We stayed in the Park Hotel,but missed the Brush Shields gig, as we went to the welcome night hosted by Mosstown Riding Club instead.All our riders were pleased with their day out,with Ciara taking first in I on Motolino Ringo and Louise taking third with Rainstown Princess. .

16th Sept.Our resident journalist, Louise Hogan had an article on the Viking League event in today's Irish Filed. .

11th of Sept 2006. We are taking it easy for a day or two after our successful event before we gear ourselves up for the National ODE next Saturday. Best of luck to John, Emma,Tony,Ciara,Louise and helpers travelling to Longford.Full results of our ODE on the ODE '06 page but hooray for Tony and Louise who both took 2nd in their respective classes in the Viking League.Jason,Angie and Colette took part in the C/T class.

3rd Sept 2006.At the Barrow Valley one day event we took the following places:Louise Hogan was first in AP on Princess,Tony Gillespie with Trádhearg Setanta was 5th in Inter, Eva Brenna took 6th in the same class.Our chairman, Alan Cope was second with Oisín while Séan Doran was 4th in green horse on Ringo. .

21st August.Tony Gillespie, Emma O' Keeffe , Sandra Nolan and Louise Hogan travelled to the National Dressage Championships where Louise took fourth in the AP Combined training. .

13th August Thanks to all the members and friends who turned up to our workday and barbie in the yard. Special thanks to Mick and Rob, the superchefs and thanks to Andrea, Richard and Brendan for their help too.Babies Lucy and Cara supervised proceedings from their buggies.

Aug 8th.Tony made the long trip to Mosstown Riding Club in Co. Longford to check out the venue for the National ODE. He and Setanta made the trip worthwhile with a clear XC. Meanwhile on bank holiday Monday many members headed to the Celbridge RC ODE where Ciara Larkin was second.

Aug 3rd.Well done to Rusty and Linda who represented the club at the National Showjumping Championships in Coilog Equestrian Centre. Rusty made it through to the Advanced Primary final in the afternoon, finishing on just 4 faults.

30th July. Viking League ODE hosted by Tinahely RC Tony & Setanta 5th in Inter.Louise 2nd in AP.

July 27th INTER:Emma O' Keeffe with Kestrel Moon- 3rd - Carne ODE. Tony Gillespie with Tradhearg Setanta- 3rd - Broomfield ODE,6th Carne ODE ADVANCED PRIMARY Louise Hogan, Rainstown Princess - 5th - Broomfield ODE.Patrick O' Neill(Rusty),6th - Nuenna Farm ODE,4th - Carne ODE.

12th July.Waterford RC hosted the first leg of the Viking League in Ballyhale with Sean, Alan, Tony, Ciara, John & Sandra partaking. Next was Glandoran where Ballycanew RC hosted their first ODE. This time we were in the ribbons with Louise & Princess coming 2nd in AP and Tony & Setanta coming 6th in Inter. Well done to Emma, Olwyn, Rob, Sandra Clynch, Sean & Alan who all enjoyed the day too.

July 4th. Our new club gear,in our club colours of black and white, has arrived.We have jackets, rugby shirts and polo shirts with the club logo on them.
